According to Whisky Magazine, more women than ever are making whisky their drink of choice, expanding a market that has long been a male-dominated bastion. Women may not be moving into the cigar market at the same rate, but if they’re like me, they find men who appreciate great whisky with a great cigar have a special appeal. That night at Le Whisky Bar, Sex and the City writers couldn’t have created a better setting for observations on the intriguing topic of whisky and cigars. Cigar smoking is an art, and most cigar aficionados enjoy smoking their cigars in private. The aroma and gentle buzz brought on by a cigar inspire quiet reflection. For me, the mood was set. As Amore played in the background, visions of a laid-back Dean Martin so sleek and chic on stage with a cigar in one hand and a glass of whisky in the other, had me smiling. On Dean’s lips was a come-hither smile so suggestive it made me shake my head, reminiscing about a time of pure allure and romance. This allure and romance is making its way back through hip crooners like Michael Bublé and secret hideaways such as Le Whisky Bar. Here are some of Le Whisky Bar’s treasures:
Mont Tremblant is a 90-minute drive from Montreal. Le Grand Lodge is a cozy mountain retreat offering year-round adventure vacations. For more information, visit www.legrandlodge.com. |
