Cocktails by Gabril Orta


 

 
 


Gabriel Orta is a chef and  mixologist and co-founder of Bar Lab, a beverage consulting service that specializes in cocktail menu creation and cocktail program implementation. He was awarded first place in a Cachaca International Competition, which took place in Brazil with 20 mixologists from around the world. He is master mixologist for the Florida Room at the Delano Hotel Miami.

Bellarinha

3/4 oz honey
1 ½ oz Cachaca
1/2 oz lime juice
5 fresh raspberries
3/4 oz passion fruit juice
Dash orange liquor
Garnish: lime wheel and 2 raspberries

Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain and sieve into a martini glass garnished with a lime wheel and a raspberry.

 

 

Basilico

3/4 oz honey
1 ½ oz whisky
1/2 oz lemon juice
4 basil leaves
3 strawberries
Dash of pepper
Garnish: basil leaf and strawberry

Muddle the strawberries and basil and then add the whiskey, lemon, and honey. Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass with ice. Top with fresh cracked pepper and garnish with a strawberry and a basil leaf.
