Six Cocktails for Mom


 

 
 


Avoid expensive brunches and overcrowded restaurants. Treat Mom on her day with a simple home-made brunch or dinner and cocktails featuring Panamanian rum Ron Abuelo.

Hemingway

2 oz Ron Abuelo Anejo or 7 Anos
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 teaspoon Maraschino Liqueur
1 teaspoon Grapefruit Juice

Shake with ice, and then strain over crushed ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

   

Pomchi Smash
Created by mixologist Paolo Votano of Bocca di Bacco,New York

1-1/2oz Ron Abuelo Anejo
2 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Lemon Juice, fresh
1/2 ozSimple Syrup
10 Raspberries, fresh
5 Mint Leaves, fresh
Ginger Ale
Dash Angostura Bitters

In a shaker muddle raspberries with the mint. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake. Strain into a highball glass and top with ginger ale. Garnish with raspberry and mint.

   

Abuelo Sparkler

2 oz Ron Abuelo Anejo
4 oz Sparkling Wine
Ginger Ale

In a champagne flute pour Ron Abuelo Añejo and sparkling wine. Top with ginger ale and garnish with a swirl of lime.

   

Pintao

 

2 oz Ron Abuelo Anejo
4 oz Club Soda
Splash of Cola

Pour the Ron Abuelo Añejo and club soda over ice into a chilled glass. Add just a splash of coke to ‘tint’ the cocktail. Garnish with lime

   

Casco Viejo

2 oz Ron Abuelo 7 Anos
5 oz Ginger Beer
Lime wedge

Pour the Ron Abuelo over ice in a highball glass then fill with ginger beer. Squeeze in a lime wedge. Stir gently to mix.

 

Early Riser

1-1/2 oz Ron Abuelo Anejo
1/2 oz Jumbie Coconut Splash
1 oz Mango Juice, fresh
1 oz Pineapple Juice, fresh

Pour all ingredients into an iced filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a tall glass. Drop in maraschino cherries and orange slices. Garnish with a long sugar cane stick.
