Mixologist Anthony Martignetti of Bar Martignetti in Soho, created this cocktail to the growing trend in New York City for mature, stylish cocktails that are sipped and contemplated rather than chugged and forgotten. It features the Irish favorite, whiskey, and generous amounts of clover honey and freshly grated ginger to give it a punch.

The Bee's Nest

2oz. Michter's 8 year Kentucky rye whiskey

1 tbsp. fresh zested ginger root

1 heaping tbsp. clover honey

Muddle the ginger and honey in a Boston mixing glass. Add large cubed ice and whiskey and shake vigorously. Pour into a chilled rocks cocktail glass. Garnish with a fresh ginger slice or honeycomb.
