Pear-Pomegranate Cocktails

These cocktails come courtesy of Marvin Allen, bartender at the Carousel Bar of the historic Monteleone Hotel in the French Quarter.

The "Pom-Pear"tini

A relative of the ever popular Cosmopolitan, and perfect for summer holidays and any other day you wish to take advantage of that delicious impulse-buy bottle of pomegranate juice (or pear-flavored vodka).

1 oz Pear flavored vodka (Grey Goose or Absolut makes one)
1 oz Pomegranate juice (generally found in the produce section of the grocery store--also works
        well with Blueberry Pomegranate
Juice)
1 oz Cranberry Juice
1/2 oz Pineapple Juice

Pour all into a martini shaker with ice and shake.
Serve straight up in a martini glass, garnish with a slice of pear.

The French 007

Inspired by the French 75--and named after a "2007" bottle of champagne.

Also good for "left-over" champagne!

1 oz Pear flavored vodka
1 oz Pomegranite juice
Champagne

Pour all into a champagne flute and stir.  (We wouldn't want to shake with Bubbly....)
Garnish with lemon twist.
