What could be more intoxicating than five days celebrating the history and culture of drinking and dining in New Orleans, the birthplace of the cocktail and one of the country’s most historic and romantic getaways?

Tickets are now on sale for the sixth Tales of the Cocktail, the cocktail and culinary festival held in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter from July 16-20.  Billed as “the summer’s most spirited event,” Tales of the Cocktail explores the history and contemporary life of the cocktail and acts as a think tank of trends to come.  The festival showcases the world’s finest mixologists, chefs, authors and all-around cocktail gurus with jam-packed days and nights of more than 100 separate ticketed events that include seminars, dinner pairings, cocktail demos and tastings, mixing competitions, design expos, book signings, and much more.

Interested in the return of absinthe to America?  Like to fit organics and green spirits into your bar program?  Want to enroll in Bartender Techniques 101?  Ready to create your own elixirs, or enter the World Bloody Mary Championships?  Whether you’re a bartender, an author, an aficionado of bourbons or rums or vodkas, or just someone who enjoys good food and drink and the company of some fascinating people, then Tales of the Cocktail is perfect for you.

You can purchase tickets to any and all of the Tales of the Cocktail events and explore the many programs, seminars, tastings, and dinners by visiting www.TalesoftheCocktail.com.   Individual events range from $25.00 to $75.00, with all seminars priced at $40.00 per person.  One-day passes are available, as are packages, which include complimentary books and CD’s.  The headquarters for the event is the splendid Hotel Monteleone, a jewel among New Orleans hotels.
