Margaritas and More: Ten Tequila Cocktails


 

 


Cabo Burro

1 oz Cabo Reposado Tequila
1 oz Ginger Beer
˝ oz freshly squeezed lime juice

Add all ingredients to an ice-filled highball glass. Stir and garnish with a lime wheel.

 

 

Citrus Margarita

Juice of ˝ navel orange
Juice of ˝ lemon
Juice of ˝ lime
1 tablespoon superfine sugar
0.5 oz. orange liqueur
2 oz. Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila

Combine all of the juices. Stir in the sugar until it has dissolved. Then stir in the orange liqueur and Cabo Wabo Tequila. Pour salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the top of a rocks glass and dip the glass in the salt. Fill each glass halfway with ice and pour in the cocktail mixture.

 

Slammer

1 oz. Cabo Reposado Tequila
˝ oz. almond liqueur
Splash 151 proof rum

Layer Cabo Wabo Tequila and almond liqueur in a shot glass and float Splash 151 proof rum.

Light a flame on top and serve. Extinguish flame and shoot.

 

Corzo Basilica Mexicana

1 1/2 parts Corzo Reposado Tequila
1/2 part Green Chartreuse
1/4 part agave nectar
1 thin slice jalapeno pepper
1/2 part fresh lime juice
3 large basil leaves

In a mixing glass, muddle the pepper and basil in the agave nectar and lime juice. Add remaining ingredients and shake well with ice. Strain over ice into a rocks glass.

Garnish: basil leaf “flag” and jalapeno pepper.


According to the Food Channel in 2008, Americans consumed 185,000 margaritas an hour. Add a twist to America’s favorite cocktail with the CORZO Evolutionary Margarita. The recipe muddles colorful peppers with sweet agave nectar to update the beloved classic.

 

Corzo Evolutionary Margarita

2 parts Corzo Reposado Tequila
1/2 parts Grand Marnier
1/2 parts agave nectar
3/4 parts fresh lime juice
6-8 small chunks of your choice of pepper (yellow, red, or orange)

In a mixing glass, muddle the pepper in the agave nectar and lime juice. Then add remaining ingredients and shake well with ice. Strain over ice into rocks glass.

Garnish: pepper “flag” and lime “bow-tie” and optional salt-rim.

 

Gran Dobel

2 parts Maestro Dobel Tequila
Splash Gran Mariner
Glass: Snifter

Garnish: blood orange wedge sprinkled with cinnamon

Serve Chilled

 

 

Perfect Pear Margarita

1 oz. 1800 Silver Tequila
0.25 oz. pear puree
0.25 oz. fresh lime juice
0.25 oz. agave nectar
Splash of Chambord

Combine first four ingredients in a cocktail. Shake with vigorously with ice and pour into a lightly salted highball glass.  Float with Chambord for a drizzle effect.

 

Passion Caipirinha

1 oz. 1800 Select Silver
1 oz. passion fruit juice
1 oz. agave nectar
5 muddled limes
Drizzle of raspberry liquor

Muddle limes and agave nectar in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add ice and all other ingredients besides the raspberry liquor. Shake and pour contents into a rocks glass and drizzle with the raspberry liquor.

 

Tequila Cazadores

1˝ part Tequila Cazadores Reposado
1 part peach schnapps
1 ˝ part orange juice

Pour ingredients over ice and top with grenadine. Garnish with a maraschino cherry
 

 

Riazul Octli (Nectar of Gods)

1 ˝ oz Riazul Silver Tequila
1 ˝ oz Pulque
˝ oz agave nectar
1 oz lime juice
1 oz Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

Shake tequila, pulque, agave nectar, lime juice and hibiscus syrup with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
