Benihana Restaurants
Combine Japanese and Latin Favorites
in New Sake Mojito

Benihana introduces a cool new specialty drink – the Benihana Sake Mojito – a tropical favorite with Japanese flair.  Japanese sake adds an extra kick to the sweet rum and refreshing citrus and mint flavors of the popular Mojito.

Benihana is famous for bringing Japanese cuisine to mainstream America, with its theatrical performing chefs preparing and meals served at teppanyaki tables.  Blending exotic Japanese dishes with a dazzling chef performance has been the restaurant company's recipe for success since 1964.  Now Benihana's is adding the flavor of Japan to popular drinks.

Sake Mojito
From Benihana

2 oz                 Rum
½ oz                Sake
1 oz                 Mint syrup
2 oz                 Sour mix
4-6                  Lime wedges
6-8                  Fresh mint leaves
                        Club soda

Gently squeeze lime wedges into a cool, tall mixing glass.  Add fresh mint leaves.  Gently muddle lime and mint leaves to extract juice and flavor.  (Caution: Do not muddle too much, as it may extract too much bitterness.)

Add rum, sake, sour mix and mint syrup. Add ice. Shake vigorously for ten seconds with a cocktail shaker or stir well. Top with a splash of club soda.

Garnish with a fresh lime wedge and a mint sprig.
