Trend: Wine perks up classic cocktails


 

 


Chandon Brut Mojito

2oz Chandon Brut Classic
1oz 10 Cane Rum
1 oz simple syrup
7-10 mint leaves
Juice from quarter of lime

Directions: In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves with simple syrup and lime juice. Add rum and shake with ice. Strain into glass filled with ice. Top with Chandon Brut Classic and stir. Garnish with mint sprig.

Suggested Glassware: Rocks

 

Voga’s Ultimate Sangria

1 bottle of Voga Merlot
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
1 Lime cut into wedges
1 Peach cut into wedges
1 Cup sliced strawberries
1 Cup whole cherries
1/2 Cup lemonade or limeade
1/2 Cup Sugar
4 shots of apricot, peach or "berry" flavored brandy
2 Cups ginger ale
Optional: one can of diced pineapple pieces with juice

Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange, and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and add sliced peaches, strawberries limeade/lemonade, sugar and brandy. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale and ice just before serving. Garnish with cherries.
