The Lychee Rum Swizzle highlights the particular character of Oronoco Rum. It is inspired by the classic Rum Swizzle (rum, carbonated water, lime juice, sugar, bitters) but substitutes lychee syrup for the sugar and water and adds Velvet Falernum. Lychee has a delicate, cherry-like flavor that doesn't mask the Oronoco as heavier fruit flavors do. Velvet Falernum is laced with clove and almond notes that complement Oronoco's vanilla character.

The Lychee Rum Swizzle was created by David Armstrong, mixologist at Askew in New York. This is a perfect summertime drink, especially for those looking for something a little different from the usual mojitos. It's light and refreshing, yet maintains layers of flavors.
