Curacao: Relax, Learn to Make Frozen Mojitos

At Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino libation lovers take home more than memories. They can learn the secret recipe for the resort’s signature Frozen Mojito in a one-hour Mojito-making class.

Students crush fresh mint leaves and sugar, combine ingredients and learn the proper techniques to make frozen Mojitos, while the bartender shares the history and origin of the popular drink. All the hard work of “cocktail school” pays off as guests imbibe their creations while relaxing on sugar-white sands. For continued fun on Fridays, “Havana Nights” features a never-ending flow of icy, cold Mojitos and the pulse of Cuban music to tempt guests to take a spin around the dance floor.

Situated on a private beach on Piscadera Bay, Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino has an open-air design that evokes a sense the island. The resort has 247 guestrooms and suites, each with private balcony or terrace, and offers genuine Curaçao experiences ranging from spectacular diving and snorkeling among world-famous reefs and wrecks to historical heritage discoveries in downtown Willemstad. On property, three restaurants provide fare from light to elegant, while the free form swimming pool perched overlooking the sea, 5,000-square-foot Emerald Casino, spa services, boutique-style shopping and high-energy fitness center provide delightful diversions.

Mojito-making classes are available for groups of five to 10 people and must be arranged in advance.
