Muddled Fruit Cocktails

This summer’s big trend is drinks featuring muddled fruit. The process of muddling helps release juice and essential oils from the fruit. All you need is a muddler (or a pestle or even a spoon) and fresh fruit. Simply muddle the fruit in the bottom of a mixing glass by pressing firmly with a muddler before adding the remaining ingredients. Crushing, mashing, piercing or pounding is not needed: think bruise and press.
